STI’s Mark McMeen, VP, Engineering Services/Manufacturing, will co-present, J-STD-001 Section 8 Objective Data “Where Do I Start?”.  The APEX Professional Development Course presentation will take place during the IPC APEX Virtual EXPO1 on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 9 AM – 12 noon, CST.

The use of Resistivity of Solvent Extract (ROSE) testing has been used as a method for determining if electronic assemblies are “clean enough”. With the release of IPC-J-STD-001 Revision G, Amendment 1, this practice is considered as obsolete and should only be used for process monitoring. If ROSE testing is no longer acceptable, what kinds of data or testing should be put in its place? Most of the industry is at a loss on how to proceed. This half day workshop is designed to help the process professional with generating new data and helps outline the path for future growth and optimization.

Mr. McMeen joined STI Electronics Inc. in July 2000. Prior to joining STI, he was Vice President of Engineering and Technical Director for Component InterTechnologies, Inc. McMeen currently oversees the daily operations of the Engineering Services division of STI, which incorporates four entities: Analytical Lab, Engineering, Prototype and Manufacturing and Microelectronics Lab. He has more than 30 years of experience in the engineering and manufacturing of printed circuit boards, both flexible and rigid, as well as in the manufacture of electronic assemblies.

McMeen currently holds two co-patents in the fabrication of flexible circuit boards and the processes necessary to imbed integrated circuits inside rigid printed circuit boards. He also is one of the co-inventers of the Magnalytix commercially available SIR test equipment (Magnalytix is a joint venture between STI Electronics and KYZEN).
