STI Electronics Does Ice Bucket Challenge for Parkinson’s Research
 
MADISON, AL — September 2014 — STI Electronics, Inc., a full service organization providing training services, analytical and failure analysis, prototyping, and small- to medium-volume PCB assembly, is pleased to announce that it held an Ice Bucket Challenge fundraiser for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. STI employees raised $821 in just a few days and David Raby, President & CEO of STI, matched the employee contribution. As a result, $1,642 was donated to the Michael J. Fox Foundation. 
 
Mark McMeen, STI’s VP of Engineering Services commented, “We did a twist on the Ice Bucket Challenge to honor Jim Raby who has given so much to the industry, STI, and its employees specifically. The employees were excited to be able to give back to Jim by raising money for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.” 
 
Diana Bradford, STI’s VP Operations/Training Resources commented, “Jim has valiantly battled Parkinson’s disease for years and continues to be quite the inspiration to everyone he comes in contact with. We want to thank Jim for all of his contributions and the employees of STI for their participation.”

Immediate full time opening for a 1st shift SMT Process Technician.  Primary responsibilities include program conversion from customer supplied Gerber files and CAD data to JUKI machine programming; create program files from bare board and component information; regular preventative and unscheduled maintenance on SMT and production equipment; set up and take down of MPM Stencil Printer; set up and break down of component feeders; set up and take down of the pick-n-place JUKI machines per STI work orders; set up of the Heller oven and run profiles per board requirements; verify component placement per BoM and relay any discrepancies in BoM to the floor supervisor; and read/interpret assembly and engineering drawings.

Rep. Brooks’ visit was coordinated by IPC as part of its “Meet the Policymakers” program, through which IPC government relations staff arrange opportunities for IPC members to host elected officials at company locations.
 
   “Special thanks to STI and IPC for hosting today’s visit,” said Rep. Brooks. “A strong electronics manufacturing industry is one of the key building blocks to a thriving national economy. I’m grateful for the opportunity to meet with hard-working, dedicated Alabamians about policies that enable job creators like STI to thrive.”
 
Rep. Brooks’ visit to STI was part of an effort to help policymakers learn first-hand about legislative and regulatory issues that impact the electronics manufacturing industry.

STI to Exhibit One-Stop Contract Manufacturing and Training Services at SMTAI

MADISON, AL — August 2014 — STI Electronics, Inc., a full service organization providing training services, analytical and failure analysis, prototyping, and small- to medium-volume PCB assembly,  announces that it will exhibit in Booth #412 at SMTA International, scheduled to take place Sep. 30 – Oct. 1, 2014 at the Donald Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL. Company representatives will discuss STI’s Engineering Services and Training Services divisions.
 
STI’s Engineering Services division provides engineering support and specialized contract manufacturing services for the electronics manufacturing industry. From product design and manufacturability analysis to pre-production prototype and development, STI’s Prototype and Development Lab is a full-service design review and preproduction facility. STI’s Microelectronics Lab was established to meet the rising need for advanced systems development and assembly.
