IPC — Association Connecting Electronics Industries® presented the award to Parrish for his participation in creating the IPC-AJ-820, Assembly and Joining Handbook.
 
Mel continues to support the IPC as a General Chair for Product Assurance 7-30 and TAEC lifetime member. The product assurance team is responsible for many IPC technical documents including the newly released IPC-AJ-820 “Assembly Joining Handbook”, IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/21, IPC-A-600, IPC-A-620 and others.
 
After retiring from his work as an electronics curriculum designer for the Air Force, Parrish continued to work with standards development and training as president of Manufacturing Technology Training Center (MTTC) and worked with the Navy at China Lake during the generation of WS-6536 through MIL-STD-2000. In addition to his IPC Master Instructor status for IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, J-STD-001, Parrish has previous DoD certifications for WS-6536, DoD-STD-2000 and MIL-STD-2000.
 
Complementing his expertise in electronics manufacturing, Parrish has more than 30 years of experience in workforce development, skills standards, curriculum design and development, and management for electronic technology and production disciplines.

Cathy brings more than 25 years of industry experience and has supported the commercial and government defense industries in various roles throughout her career. She has experience developing and writing training curriculum, as well as coordinating and teaching technical training programs. Cathy is an IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001 Certified Instructor (CIT), CAT C MIL-STD-2000 Solder Instructor, and has her ISO 9000/9001 Lead Auditor Certification.

STI has extensive experience in curriculum development and has worked with IPC numerous times in previous years to develop and/or update curriculum for IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC-A-620 and IPC-7711/7721.
 
This course will provide skill-based training regarding soldering practices and processes as covered in the J-STD-001E and its companion documents. Estrada as its newest Instructor for the TX, OK, AR area.
 
“It is easy to see why Mr. Estrada found his true calling as a trainer. He has a great passion to help people understand the government and industry standards.  Julio will be a significant addition to the STI training staff.  Julio is also bilingual and will allow STI to better serve its Hispanic customer base,” commented David Raby, President/CEO. 
 
Mr. Estrada is the newest Instructor/Trainer to join the STI crew.  He brings more than 15 years of experience in training classes in through-hole soldering, cable, harness and crimp assembly, fiber-optic termination, polymeric applications, SMT fabrication and repair, as well as electrostatic discharge (ESD) avoidance for the U.S. government.  In total Mr. Estrada has more than 28 years of experience in the aerospace industry. 
 
Mr. Estrada has trained personnel first on the NHB5300, then on the NASA-STD-8739 Workmanship Standards, and now on the IPC J-STD-001E, including the Space Addendum.    Mr. Estrada has devoted his entire career to helping others achieve their goals by becoming proficient in the work they perform for their employers. He has worked at respected companies including the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas and has experience developing course curriculums for premier companies such as NASA.
