STI announces the launch of its on-line store for purchasing training materials.
The new online store, located at http://estore.stielectronicsinc.com, also can be accessed directly through STI’s Web site. All training kits, components, training tools, and IPC specifications are now available on the Web site. Bench top equipment, ESD materials, tools and more will be available for purchase through STI’s online store by January 2012.
“STI has hundreds of training materials customers all around the world and we appreciate each and every one. STI decided to launch an e-commerce site to make the purchasing process more user-friendly and flexible for our customers. Although our customer service representatives are available by phone or email from 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. CST to take orders and assist customers, many trainers and international customers need to purchase outside that time frame. Our online store will enable customers to place orders at a time that is convenient to them. In addition to the ease of the ordering process, customers will be able to view their purchase history, repeat previous orders, see shipping information, and more. Customers can access the online store through a user name and password (provided by STI) so the entire process is confidential and secure,” commented Diana Bradford, Vice President, Training Resources/Operations.
In addition to its standardized training program support materials, STI Electronics provides unique or custom training materials ranging from chip scale and BGA to through-hole and terminal attachments. STI also provides cable and harness kits to support cable fabrication programs. Process development kits for machine applications provide an opportunity to evaluate operation capabilities for issues such as fine-pitch production and lead-free materials.

STI Electronics, Inc., a full service organization providing training, electronic and industrial distribution, consulting, laboratory analysis, prototyping, and small- to medium-volume PCB assembly, announces that Mark McMeen, Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering Services, will present “Flex Circuit Assembly Issues: What the Fabricator needs to Know” at the upcoming IPC FLEX CONFERENCE, scheduled to take place June 21-23, 2011. The presentation will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at the Sheraton Minneapolis West in Minneapolis, MN.
Every flex assembly is unique, and technology is pushing for higher density and layer counts. Miniaturization and density are changing the capabilities and uses of flex circuits in all industry segments. Due to its uniqueness and design complexity, each flex should have its own design and manufacturability review with all parties involved as early in the design stage as possible. This presentation will address the drive to miniaturization and process related issues, and discuss where the industry is headed.
Mark has more than 20 years experience in the manufacturing and engineering of printed circuit boards, both flexible and rigid, as well as in the manufacture of electronic assemblies. As STI’s Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering Services, Mark oversees the day-to-day operations of the Manufacturing and Engineering Services division of STI. Prior to joining STI, Mr. McMeen was the Vice President of Engineering and Technical Director of Component Intertechnologies, Inc.
